One of my favourite things about Christmas is decorating the house. My aim is to make my home look as though Christmas has vomited all over the place. The more decorations the better. However, there is a down side to all this Christmas. Decorations costs a huge amount of money and then there is the problem of where to store everything for the other eleven months of the year.
Ever year I make Christmas decorations of some sort or another to help keep the cost of Christmas to a reasonable level. This year, I’ve been making these reindeer garlands out of glimmer paper. Trust me I have a large stash of 12″ x 12″ glimmer paper that I have been collecting over the years. Quite a lot of it comes from Stampin’ Up!
I created a template for the reindeer head and just cut lots of reindeer heads from various colours of glimmer paper. Yes even black. The reindeer head is approximately 5″ x 6″.
So here are the photos
This is the garland over the front door.
Here is another over a different door.
The best thing about these garlands is they store relatively flat and don’t take up a lot of storage room.
Now that the madness of the pre-Christmas rush is over, I have a chance to sit down at the craft table and do some Christmas crafting. I will probably sit down and make a few more of this reindeer garlands in preparation for next Christmas.
