CASEing the Catty CTC# 144 Blog Hop

Today I’m participating as a guest designer in the CASEing the Catty Design Crew blog hop. This week the challenge is take inspiration from the Quilted Christmas section of the 2017 Stampin’ Up! holiday catalogue, pages 4 to 9.

The inspiration for my blog hop project comes from the gift bag on page 6.  I decided to case this example card  and recreate this project as a card, using items that I already owned.

First 0ff, I replaced the gold striped treat bag with some DSP from the Bundle of Love Specialty DSP.  That took care of the back ground. Then I needed to recreate the centre panel.

I decided to give my Christmas tree with a beach theme so that meant using the shell and crab from the Beach Little Christmas stamp set. These were stamped with Calypso Coral ink. The pine bows were cut out using the Petty Bows thinlits. I like the scale of the pine bows because it is kind of more like branch coral, which is more in theme of the card. The sentiment comes from the At Home with You stamp set.

Thanks for visiting my blog. Now it is time to hop over to Fi’s blog to check out her project.

Happy stamping

  3. Great to have you on the team for this challenge Cathy, having been lucky enough to see your card in person, you know that I think it is really cool how you used alternative products on your CASE.
