It has been a long break since I’ve done a challenge for the Colour INKspiration Facebook group. There are a lot of greens in Challenge CI26. Greens are not really my favourite colour to work with but I do have a fondness for sea blues and greens.
The colours for challenge #26 are: Emerald Envy, Bermuda Bay, Tranquil Tide and Sahara Sands.
These colours are very much say oceans to me and Bermuda Bay is my favourite blue in the standard Stampin’ Up! colours. These colours called for a seascape image and the use of the High Tide stamp set. The main image is created with Bermuda Bay and Tranquil Tide ink using a combination of brayer, sponging, and masking. Details where added with stamps and a white paint pen. Originally I was going to have a daylight scene but it started to turn into a night scene when I added Tranquil Tide ink. I kept adding Tranquil Tide ink until I was happy with the result. The scene was matted with Whisper White and Emerald Envy card stock, then attached to a Whisper White card base.
The lighthouse has been stamped with Sahara Sand Ink on Whisper White card stock. I fussy cut the lighthouse out with paper snips and placed it on the card with the intention that the lighthouse would stick outside the frame of the seascape.
Used in this project:
Paper: Emerald Envy, Whisper White
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Tranquil Tide, Sahara Sands
Stamps: High Tide
Edit: I won the challenge
