ESAD 2018 retirement list blog hop

Welcome to an ESAD blog hop. You may have come to my blog from Rose’s blog. The theme of the blog hop today is to show case items that will be retiring from the 2017- 2018 annual catalogue and farewell to items that will not carry over from the Occassions mini catalogue. For today’s blog hop I will be featuring my favourite flower stamp set, Birthday Blooms, and a couple of my favourite Designer Series Papers (DSP) that will be retiring soon. For my projects I have really tried to concentrate on on items that will be retiring, including embellishments and ribbons.

My first couple of projects are featuring the Painted with Love card stock pack from the occassions catalogue. My first project is a birthday card.  My main panel is some of the Painted with Love card stock matted with Rich Razzleberry.  I layered some Whisper White 1/4″ organza ribbon over some long retired Rich Razzleberry satin ribbon, then attached the ribbon to my panel.  I then attached the panel to a Calypso Coral card base. The main feature of the card is a flower image from the Birthday Blooms stamp set, stamped with Memento black ink.  I coloured the image with Old Olive, Rich Razzelberry, Calypso Coral and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends markers. The sentiment, also from the Birthday Blooms stamp set, is stamped on Powder Pink card stock with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I cut out the sentiment using the Lots of Labels framelits. The last thing was to do was to add some bling from the card.  For this I have used the Tutti-Frutti adhesive-backed sequins and the metallic enamel shapes which are also soon retiring.

My Next project is a gift box.  The Painted with Love card stock is thick enough to create a quite sturdy box without the use of card stock. However I had already cut up my Painted with Love card stock (#loveitchopit), so I create a box out of Calypso Coral card stock with the gift bag punch board, I then attached some of the Painted with Love card stock to the front and back of the box. I added a vellum tag to the front and decorated the the tag with some more stamped flower images that I had coloured with the Stampin’ Blends markers. I wrapped some Rich Razzleberry satin ribbon around the box and added some metallic enamel shapes to finish the box.

Used in these projects:

Paper:  Calyspo Coral, Rich Razzelberry, Painted with Love, Whisper White

Ink: VersaMark, Momento

Stamps: Birthday Blooms

Stampin’ Blends: Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Calypso Coral, Smoky Slate, colour lifter

Tools: gift bag punch board, big shot, gold embossing powder, heat tool, Lots of Labels framelits

Embellishments:  Tutti-Frutti adhesive-backed sequins and the metallic enamel shapes, Whisper White 1/4″ organza ribbon, Rich Razzleberry satin ribbon

My last project is another card where I have used the the Whole Lot of Love DSP.   I really like some of the designs from this DSP, so much so that I haven’t even cut it.  I really wanted to make a card to emulate this particular design from the DSP.

I chose another of the design from the Whole Lot of Love DSP for my main panel and matted it with Basic Black card stock.  I wrapped Lemon Lime Twist mini stripe ribbon around the main panel and attached it to a Pool Party card base.  The flower was coloured with Old Olive, Pool Party, Calypso Coral and Smoky Slate Stamping Blends markers. The sentiment on this card is also from the Birthday Blooms stamp set and is stamped on Pool Party card stock with VersaMark ink and is heat embossed with black embossing powder.  The bling I have used is glitter enamel dots.

Used in this project:

Paper:  Pool Party, Basic Black, Whisper White, Whole Lot of Love DSP

Ink: VersaMark, Momento

Stamps: Birthday Blooms

Stampin’ Blends: Old Olive, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Smoky Slate, colour lifter

Tools: big shot, black embossing powder, heat tool, Lots of Labels framelits

Embellishments:  glitter enamel dots, Lemon Lime Twist mini stripe ribbon.
