Colour INKspiration #51 blog hop

Welcome to another Colour INKspriation blog hop. You may have started here or you may have hopped over to my page from Monique Fielder’s page.

The colours for this challenge are: Berry Burst, Mango Melody, Highland Heather and Pear Pizzazz. You can also add any of the basic colours (Basic Black, Whisper White and Very Vanilla) and metallics to your projects.

Lately I’ve been making a few cards with the centre step fold.  It’s funny how you don’t make a certain type of card for ages and then suddenly that’s all you seem to make.  The project for this blog hop is also a centre step fold card.

I started by colouring some Botanical Butterfly DSP (designer series paper), which is a Sale-a-bration item that you can earn with purchase, with the light Highland Heather blends marker. The DSP is matted with Basic Black card stock and has a piece of retired ribbon that has been coloured with the Highland Heather blends marker, around the panel. The centre panel is then mounted on to a Highland Heather card base.  The sides of the card where decorated with more Botanical Butterfly DSP and Basic Black card stock.

The sentiment panel was created using the Tailored Tag punch and card stock using the remaining challenge colours and Whisper White. The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Birthday stamp set and is stamped with Berry Burst ink. Some clear epoxy shapes where added to the card.

Used in these project:

Paper: Berry Burst, Mango Melody, Highland Heather, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White, Basic Black, Botanical Butterfly DSP

Ink: Berry Burst, Highland Heather Blends

Stamps: Itty Bitty Birthdays

Accessories: Tailored tag punch, clear and glitter epoxy shapes (retired), ribbon (retired)

Thanks for visiting my blog. Now it is time to hop over to see what Julia Quinn has made.

  1. Such a wonderful way to show off this beautiful DSP. Love that you’ve only coloured in the background! And the centre fold is so classic and stylish.

  2. colouring the background is such a cool technique- yes I’m now making lots of double gate folds and slider cards! Good to go round the styles again every now and then. Haven’t had a run of centre step cards for a while, I think you’ve just INKspired me!

  3. I don’t think I’ve ever made a centre step fold card – I think I’ll have to look it up now! Pretty way to show off the paper, Caty]hy.
