ESAD so long old favourites blog hop

Welcome to an ESAD blog hop. You may have come to my blog from Lauren’s blog. The theme of the blog hop today is to show case retiring items from the Stampin’ Up! 2019 Occassions and 2018-2019 annual catalogues.

I’m always attracted to cards with interesting folds.  Even so I have never made a pop and twist card until now. For this blog hop I decided to make a pop and twist card decorated with my favourite DSP that is about to retire from the annual Stampin’ Up! catalogue. My favourite DSP is Petal Promanade.  I have a weakness for photo-real DSP and this is my favourite.

I constructed the card base and pop-up mechanism from Blushing Bride card stock. All the panels including the card front have Petal Promenade DSP attached. I used stamps from the Petal Palette stamp set, also retiring, to create the images for the panels of the pop and twist part of the card.  The images have been coloured using Stampin’ Blends.  The sentiment comes from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set and has been cut out using a die from the Petals & More dies.

This card needs a belly band to keep the card closed so I made one out of Grapefruit Grove card stock.  I used a die from the retiring Celebrate You dies to cut out the word celebrate from Sparkle glimmer paper and attached the word to the belly band. I added some frosted epoxy droplets to the card front.

Used in this project:

Paper and Packaging: Blushing Bride, Whisper White, Basic Black, Grapefruit Grove, Sparkle glimmer, Petal Promenade DSP

Ink: Momento

Blends: Granny Apple Green, Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo, Calypso Coral, Lovely Lipstick

Stamps: Petals Palette, Itty Bitty Birthdays

Die cutting and embossing tools: Celebrate You dies, Petals & More dies

Accessories: frosted & clear epoxy droplets
