Welcome to another Colour INKspriation blog hop. You may have started here or you may have hopped over to my page from Jacque Williams’ page.
The colours for this challenge are: Berry Burst, Blackberry Bliss, Melon Mambo and Garden Green. You can also add any of the basic colours (Basic Black, Whisper White and Very Vanilla) and metallics to your projects.
With a new annual catalogue starting next month I am trying to give retiring stamps a last hurrah in my projects before they retire. This colour scheme begs for something floral. But try as I might I couldn’t come up with any ideas with my retiring stamp sets using this colour scheme. Instead I kept coming back to stamp sets that are carrying over to the next catalogue and a brand new set.
I started with using a stamp from the Perennial Birthday to create a back ground. I used Black Berry ink, stamped off once, to stamp happy birthday several times. The stamparatus was very useful here to get even stamping. The background needed some more visual interest, so I took the two bokeh-style stamps from Beauty Abounds stamp set and stamp in Garden Green ink. I added some tea room ribbon combo which I had coloured with a retired Melon Mambo blendability marker, then mounted the background on to a Berry Bliss card base. I then added some more ribbon.
The flower and leaves stamps come from the Floral Essence stamp set which will be in the new Stampin’ Up! annual catalogue. The flower is stamped in Berry Burst ink and the leaves are stamped in Garden Green. Both the flowers and leaves were cut out using punches. To add more Melon Mambo to the card, I added some glitter enamel dots.
Used in this project:
Paper: Berry Burst, Whisper White,
Ink: Berry Burst, Blackberry Bliss, Garden Green
Blendabilities: Melon Mambo (retired)
Stamps: Perennial Birthday, Beauty Abounds, Floral Essence
Punches: perennial flower, leaf
Accessories: tea room ribbon combo, glitter enamel dots
