Colour INKspiration #57 blog hop

Welcome to another Colour INKspriation blog hop. Today the blog hop starts with my blog. Make sure you check out everyone else’s projects once you have seen mine.

The colours for this challenge are: Lovely Lipstick, Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green. You can also add any of the basic colours (Basic Black, Whisper White and Very Vanilla) and metallics to your projects.

I’ve never done the no-line water colouring technique and always wanted to have a go ever since I saw the example on page 169 of the old Stampin’ Up! 2018-2019 annual catalogue. So for this challenge I thought I would have a go at the technique using the new stamp set Good Morning Magnolia.

For this technique, the stamped image needs to be a light as possible. The best ink to use is Sahara Sand ink.  Stamp off once on scrape paper and then stamp onto you project.  I stamped the flower image several times on water colour paper even masking one of the images I had already stamped to get a layered look.  I coloured the images using the challenge colour inks and an aqua painter.  I added some line details with the water colour pencils.

The background for this project was the hardest part of this card.  I made two previous backgrounds that I just wasn’t happy with how they turned out and both looked totally different to the final background. For the background that made it on the card, I spritzed water colour paper with water then applied some Lovely Lipstick ink with an aqua painter.  Once the background was dry, I the used the aqua painter to splatter some more Lovely Lipstick ink on the background before it was mounting it to a Granny Apple Green card base. I added a Lovely Lipstick card stock band and some retired ribbon before arranging the flowers.  I added some retire Granny Apple Green glitter enamel dots for bling.

The sentiment is also from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set and is stamped in Lovely Lipstick ink on Whisper White
