Welcome to another Colour INKspriation blog hop. You may have started here or you may have hopped over to my page from Jan Clothier’s page.
The colours for this challenge are: Gray Granite, Soft Suede, Whisper White and Mint Macaron. You may add Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Crumb Cake and metallics to your project. We also allow ‘Ivory’ in the Stampin’ Blends. If you don’t have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute.
I found this colour scheme a bit of a challenge to come up with anything because this colour combination doesn’t really appeal to me. But having said that I did come up with a project that I actually like. I love the feather die from the Detailed Peacock dies but I don’t own them. There are lovely examples on page 24 and 25 of the 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up! annual catalogue. I knew I wanted to use this feather on my project for this challenge but as I don’t have the die, I had to create an electronic file that looks somewhat like the die cutout and used a cutting machine to cut the feather out of Mint Macaron card stock. I sponged Soft Suede ink on to the ‘eye’ of the feather. I believe my feather is larger than what would be cut out using the die.
I started my card by giving a wash of colour with Gray Granite ink to a piece of watercolour paper. In my never ending quest to use up my retired embellishments, I pulled out a heap of retired embellishments for my project. I won’t list them here but you can see them listed below. The main panel has been mounted on a thick Whisper White card base. I created some tags using a couple of punches and stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede ink. The sentiment stamp is from the Seaside Notions stamp set.
Used in this project:
Paper: thick Whisper White, Whisper White, Mint Macaron, Watercolour, gold foil
Ink: Gray Granite, Soft Suede, Mint Macaron
Stamps: Seaside Notions
Punches: delightful tag topper, banner triple
Embellishments: iridescent sequin assortment, Mint Macaron lace (retired), white perfect accents (retired), Eastern gold vinyl stickers (retired), gold twine (retired)
