Welcome to another Colour INKspriation blog hop. Today the blog hope starts with my post. Make sure you follow the blog hop. You will love what the design crew have come up for this colour challenge.
The colours for this challenge are: Merry Merlot, Blackberry Bliss, Gray Granite and Basic Black. You may add Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Crumb Cake and metallics to your project. We also allow ‘Ivory’ and ‘Bronze’ in the Stampin’ Blends. If you don’t have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute.
I had this idea for the last Colour INKspiration challenge, but the colours for that challenge weren’t dark enough for the effect I wanted. I specifically wanted to use the Stargazing stamp set. The colours in this challenge were much more suited for what I had in mind.
This card is a double easel card. The first easel has a frame of Gray Granite card stock made with Stitched Nested Labels dies. Flowers are made with the Pressed Petals specialty washi tape. The flower centres were coloured with a Basic Black marker. I added the vellum foliage from the retired Sweet Soiree embellishment kit.
The bottom panel has more vellum foliage and flower stamped with the Free as a Bird stamp set. The flower has been coloured with Blackberry bliss blends marker. The Woven Treads trim and a retired cochet trim were also added.
The scene I created for the back easel was made with stamps from the Stargazing, Hide Tide and Water Front stamp sets. Other than stamping, I used masking, a sponge brayer and lots of sponging to create the scene. I used all the challenge colours to create this scene. Details were added with markers and a white paint pen.
