Colour INKspiration #68 blog hop

Welcome to another Colour INKspriation blog hop. Colour INKspiration is a challenge group on Facebook that sets a colour challenge approximately every two weeks using Stampin’ Up! colours. Inspiration pictures are from Pinterest.  For today’s blog hop you may have started here or you may have hopped over to my page from Lou Kitzelman’s page.

The colours for this challenge are: Shaded Spruce, Blueberry Bushel, Pretty Peacock, Coastal Cabana and Silver Foil. You may add Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Crumb Cake and metallics to your project. We also allow ‘Ivory’ and ‘Bronze’ in the Stampin’ Blends. If you don’t have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute.

This colour palette really had me stumped on what to make for this challenge.  Nothing was coming to me until Midnight on Monday just before I went to be bed.  I quickly sketched out my idea because I knew if I didn’t, it would keep me awake and I would probably have forgotten the idea by the time I wake up.

The main panel of this card consists of a night sky of Shade Spruce and Blueberry Bushel applied to Whisper White card stock with a sponge brayer.  I added more dimension by sponging on more Shaded Spruce, Blueberry Bushel and Memento ink around the edges.  The tree line and foreground of the main panel where created on a separate piece of Whisper White card stock.   The stamp set I used for the images on this card are from the Snow Front stamp set.

The stamp to create the tree line is a single stamp that I have coloured with Pretty Peacock and Coastal Cabana Stampin’ Write markers before stamping on to the card stock.  I stamped the image twice. The foreground and dears are other stamps from the same stamp set and I have used Coastal Cabana and Memento ink.  I fussy-cut out the tree line and sponged some Coastal Cabana ink around the edge.  I mounted this piece to the background with some dimensionals.  Then mounted the panel to a Blueberry Bushel card base.

I used I white paint pen to add some stars and used clear Wink of Stella to add an aurora effect in the sky and some extra dimension to the foreground.  The last thing was to add some rhinestone for some extra embellishment.

Used in this project:

Paper: Blueberry Bushel, Whisper White

Ink: Shaded Spruce, Blueberry Bushel, Pretty Peacock, Coastal Cabana, Momento Black

Stampin’ Write markers: Pretty Peacock, Coastal Cabana

Stamps: Snow Front

Tools: Clear Wink of Stella, dimensionals

Embellishments: Rhinestones
