Colour INKspiration #69 blog hop

Welcome to last  Colour INKspriation blog hop of 2019. Colour INKspiration is a challenge group on Facebook that sets a colour challenge approximately every two weeks using Stampin’ Up! colours. Inspiration pictures are from Pinterest.  For today’s blog hop you may have started here or you may have hopped over to my page from Denita Wright-Smee’s page.

The colours for this challenge are: Gorgeous Grape, Whisper White, Mint Macaron and Grapefruit Grove. You may add Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Crumb Cake and metallics to your project. We also allow ‘Ivory’ and ‘Bronze’ in the Stampin’ Blends. If you don’t have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute.

Such a busy time of the year.  As I write,I am rushing to get this post written in time for tonight’s blog hop.  What a time for the battery on my camera to go flat.

Anyway for tonight’s blog I decided to make an art page for my planner.  I wanted a collage-effect for this page and is put together with a number of elements, the most colourful is the sea scape part of the page.  I started by taking a piece of Whisper White card stock and applying the three main challenge colours by masking and sponging on colour, then I would mask some more and then sponge on more colour.  In some parts of this panel I masked and sponged four times.   Grapefruit Grove ink was used for the sky and, Mint Macaron and Gorgeous Grape ink were used for the sea.   I sponged some additional Gorgeous Grape ink around the edge of the panel.

Crumb cake is my neutral of choice for this project.  The lighthouse from Sailing Home stamp set and the picket fence from Grace’s Garden, a new stamp set from the upcoming January – June 2020 mini catalogue, were both stamped in Crumb Cake ink.  The picket fence was create by stamping the image a couple of times and then adding additional details with a Stampin Write marker to make it like a large single image.

The stems of the flowers were stamping directly on the page with Mint Macaron ink.  The flowers were stamped separately with Gorgeous Grape ink and then fussy cut out.

Because this is going in my planner I applied my various element directly on to a piece of Whisper White card stock to reduce the amount of bulk.  It this was going to be a card, the various elements would have been popped up with dimensionals.
