ESAD 2017 Holiday catalogue Fancy folds & 3D projects blog hop

Welcome to an ESAD blog hop. You may have come to my blog from Narelle’s blog. The theme of the blog hop today is to create fancy fold and 3D items  using products from the 2017 Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalogue.

For today’s hop I decided to make a snow globe card.  The construction of card is known as a tunnel card and in my card I have three layers.

The primary components of the card have been constructed with thick Whisper White card stock. I used a circle scissor, Layering Circles and Lots of Labels framelits to cut out pieces to construct the snow globe.

To decorate the card, I started with the back layer.  I applied Dapper Denim and Night of Navy ink with a brayer to create an ombre back ground I then used one of the stamps from the Carols of Christmas stamps repeatedly so I could create falling snow.  I used VersaMark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I created a forest landscape with trees cut out of silver and dazzling diamonds glimmer paper, and champagne foil. The snow flakes on the front layer are cut out of glimmer paper using the Seasonal Layers thinlits.

The front layer has some window sheet attached on the back.  This is because I needed something to stick the front layer decorations, such as the trees and the tiny pearls that simulate falling snow.

The good thing about this card is that it will fold flat for mailing.  However you will need to make a custom envelope.

Thanks for visiting my blog. Now it is time to hop over to Maree’s blog to check out her lovely project. Should you get lost there is a list of participants below so you can rejoin the hop.

Happy stamping

Cathy
