Colour INKspiration #89

Welcome to Colour INKspriation #89.  Colour INKspiration is a challenge group on Facebook that sets a colour challenge every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month using Stampin’ Up! colours. Inspiration pictures are from Pinterest.  As a design team member, we make cards and projects to inspire people in the challenge.

The colours for this challenge are: Just Jade, Shaded Spruce, Poppy Parade and Gray Granite. You may add Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and metallics to your project. We also allow ‘Ivory’ and ‘Bronze’ in the Stampin’ Blends. If you don’t have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU (Stampin’ Up!) substitute.

For this card I went a little more traditional  Christmas with this project and I was very influenced by the inspiration picture.  I remembered I had some now-retired mercury glass acetate and thought this would be the perfect project to incorporate the acetate.

I stamped the jar and one of the flower arrangements form the Jar of Flowers stamp set and coloured the image in with Blends markers.  So that the stamped image wouldn’t get lost just sitting on the DSP (designer series paper), I cut a piece of the mercury glass acetate. But the acetate needed a solid colour as a background because the design of the DSP showing through the acetate was just too busy.  I used Shaded Spruce blends marker to colour the ribbon to match the card base.  I added some retired embellisments for some extra bling.

I’m not sure if I will add sentiment to the card front but for now, I like how this turned out.
